Governments worldwide are actively promoting the transition towards data-driven governance while also endorsing the release of government data to foster research and innovation. However, a critical first step is to establish effective government data governance framework and practices. In Taiwan, we are still in the early stages of developing such initiatives. While this legislation serving as just one example, it can offer valuable insights to help us assess the challenges and shortcomings of our current regulatory framework in Taiwan.
